Bangalore Physiotherapist NetworkBangalore physiotherapist network is a Non-political gathering of physiotherapist in Bangalore with the objective of knowing each other and to promote the awareness about the physiotherapy profession. The Bangalore physiotherapist network idea was initiated by Dr. Dhanajeyan (PT), Dr.Kasiraj (PT), Dr.Parthipan (PT) on March 2010. The first network meeting held on April 2010 and bimonthly meeting followed on June 2010 and august 2010.

Significance of World Physiotherapy Day
WCPT is the profession's global body representing over 300,000 Physical therapists/ physiotherapists from member organizations in 101 Countries World Physical Therapy Day falls on 8th September every year, and is an opportunity for Physical therapists from all over the world to raise awareness about their crucial role in keeping people well, mobile and independent. The day was established by WCPT in 1996, and marks the date on which WCPT was Founded. Aim of celebration in BangaloreBangalore is an information technology city where there is no limit to know the current trends of world and also Bangalore is also a Physiotherapist club. There is more number of Physiotherapist working in clinics, Hospitals, Colleges, Home Visits, Fitness Clubs, NGOs... On the eve of physiotherapy day, The Bangalore Physiotherapist Network initiated steps to spread the crucial role of physiotherapy in current era to general public and promote the physiotherapy Practice. Bangalore World physiotherapy Day plan Discussed and debated on 3rd BPN meeting on 08:08:2010 at Narayana Hrudayalaya hospitals, and accepted.

Logical Frame Work ActivityBangalore Physiotherapist Network strongly believe the chronological development of campaigning programme. As the part of awareness campaigning, the network started the sensitization and free work shop for physiotherapist for six months. The programme also validated horizontally and vertically every steps.
Bangalore Physiotherapists network working for all three levels of stakeholders (Primary - Patients, Secondary - Referral Persons / Physician and family members, territory -physiotherapist) for the promotion of physiotherapy. Above mentioned flow-chart explain how the BPN works for awareness. First, all, Physiotherapists need to be trained in all aspect of current trend in physiotherapy, evidence based Practice and legal aspects. Second, the referral persons like physician, NGOs, Parents of child with disability and care givers need to know what is physiotherapy, how they work and when to refer the patients to physiotherapy. Physio Week 2010 officially inaugurated by Mrs. Ashwini Nachappa, (the former Indian athelete cum arjuna awards holder) and Dr. Sita Bhateja, Gynecologist and Director of Sita bhateja Specialty Hospital Bangalore. Dr. Sita bhateja wished the physiotherapist network and activities. As a gynecologist, She spoke the important of Physiotherapy in OBG Problems. Mrs. Ashwini spoke the importance of sport physiotherapist in prevention of injury and rehabilitation by physiotherapist and also congratulated the physiotherapist network for success. Dr. Aravind bhateja, Neuro Surgeon congratulated physiotherapist for their constant support of physiotherapist in rehabilitation of neurologically ill Persons. www.physiobangalore.com webpage launched by Ashwini Nachappa on 8th Sep 2010 at Spectrum Physio Centre, Bangalore. The webpage have two main frames called for general public and for Physio-Doctors. For the general Public, the website will give the idea about what is physiotherapy, what the physiotherapist will do and find a physiotherapist option with exclusive data base of physiotherapist in Bangalore. The Physiotherapist site is linked with various clinical practice guidelines and evidence based centers. The website will be updated frequently and new data base of physiotherapists will be updated soon. Forum for physiotherapist will be created for soon for the more discussion and sharing of knowledge among Bangalore Physiotherapists. CME -In - Service EducationOne of the eve of world physiotherapy day, Apollo group of hospital conducted the in - service education programme on Ergonomics for every one - from theory to practice" The session focus the current trends on ergonomics, International guidelines on ergonomics, As the different they discussed ergonomics not only for computer profession, For everyone in work like manual workers too More the 100 Physiotherapist participated in the programme The participant felt very happy about this initiative.

Physio Walk - Walkathon
Physio Walkathon started by 7:30 AM, 12th Sep 2010 at Cubbon Park, near coffee day square. Our chief guest Dr. Mahesh Joshi, Deputy director inaugurated the walking by flag off and spoke about the important of physiotherapy this era. Dr. Nadan Kumar oriented the participants about the route for walkathon and discipline need to maintained during the same. All participant are given consent before the participation and every one got T-shirt Water bottle, Juice, Biscuits, on the course of walkathon. Other professionals like Plastic surgeon, Physicians, Software engineers, business mans and patients also participated for this walkathon Miss Roopika, kannada actress also participated and wish the participant unity of Bangalore Physiotherapist and wish the grand success. After the walk, all the participant gathered inside Cubbon Park and the senior Physiotherapist introduced themselves. After the small non-formal interaction, the programme officially came to the end with the vote of thanks by Dr. Nandan Kumar. Narayana Hrudhayalaya hospital offered the ambulance for the same.
